Perform hands-on mechanical failure analysis, determine failure mechanism and root cause within the response time defined in SOW by leveraging internal FA labs for both new product introduction and ongoing product improvement.
Resolve the yield issues and improve the product quality as early product milestone as possible.
Attend the meetings held by different functional teams, respond to questions and follow up actions.
Communicate results to stakeholders through ADO system with written reports and presentations.
Summarize weekly reports and submit them onto DAE internal website.
Drive root cause and corrective actions for critical issues from a technical perspective.
Work with cross-functional teams for containment and issue resolutions.
Engage with suppliers to perform FA and provide expertise in recommending the appropriate technique to suppliers for performing the fault localization.
Contribute Lessons Learned and Feed Forward from daily FA activities to avoid repeating mistakes and improve design, manufacturing and other processes in new products.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline.
Ability to clearly communicate in English.
Ability to travel and visit Manufacturing facilities and Suppliers.
Desired Skills and qualifications:
Preferred 5+ years of experience on electrical product design or manufacturing
Proficiency in using Creo Parametric is desired and preferred.
With strong hands-on experience on common mechanical measurement tools such as OMM, CT300 profilometer, Instron, etc.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering drawings.
Ability to create documents and correspondence to effectively present information, respond to questions, solve problems and justify needs.
Knowledge of engineering materials including metal, plastic and elastomer, etc.
Knowledge of Plastic injection mold, molding, and plastic secondary processing.
Knowledge of Metal stamping, forming, and its secondary processing, including tooling.
Knowledge of mechanical tolerance analysis and Design of Experimentation (DOE) is a plus.
Data analysis by using MS Excel is a must, and using other tools like JMP or Mintab is a plus.
The successful candidate must be organized and be able to work independently with little direct supervision.
Demonstrated passion for finding the root cause and sense of urgency.
Excellent problem analyzing & solving skills, and strong ability to drive for problem closure.
